Core, Pelvic Floor and More

  • Move Well Studio Carlshead Business Centre, Paddock House Lane, Sicklinghall LS22 4BJ United Kingdom (map)

This practical, movement-focused workshop is for movement teachers, manual therapists and bodyworkers who want to go beyond spot-treating symptoms and truly understand the body’s deep connections.

You’ll learn how to identify, accommodate and support clients with core and pelvic floor dysfunction—not just with formula exercises, but with embodied movement that creates lasting change.

With one in three women experiencing pelvic floor issues, our role as professionals isn’t only to offer a few corrective drills—it’s to provide a safe space where clients feel seen, can move with confidence, and gradually reclaim strength, resilience and function through their whole body.

This workshop is designed for:

* Movement teachers: yoga, Pilates, fitness instructors, personal trainers

* Manual therapists: osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists

* And anyone else working with bodies—especially pre- and postnatal clients

You’ll leave with practical tools, insightful assessments and a wide range of movement-based practices that can be applied in both 1:1 settings and group classes to help your students build whole-body strength and function.

During the course we will:

* Explore common conditions including diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic girdle pain and incontinence—not just what they are, but why they happen and how they can be alleviated.

* Learn to “read” posture, alignment and movement to uncover what’s really going on with your client’s pelvic health.

* Discover how breathing can either support or sabotage recovery—and how to teach simple, effective shifts that make a huge difference.

* Rethink unhelpful cues like “engage your abs” or “squeeze your pelvic floor,” and learn what to offer instead so that healing is encouraged rather than hindered.

We’ll also dive into:

* Breaking the taboo around pelvic health so clients feel safe, supported and confident in your care.

* The anatomy of the core, pelvis and spine through a bio-tensegrity lens—seeing how every connection, from head to toe, influences core and pelvic function. No more one-dimensional fixes, but a whole-body experience of core wellness.

* Spotting unhelpful breathing habits like belly breathing or bearing down, and guiding clients into patterns that create long-term health.

* Cueing for efficiency, clarity and empowerment so your clients move in ways that truly support recovery.

* Practical tools for teaching deep, integrated core engagement—not just superficial abdominal activation.

By the end, you’ll feel confident working with all clients, from seasoned athletes to new mums.

You’ll know how to identify compensations, modify movements, and guide people towards sustainable recovery.

You’ll also uncover your own blind spots as a mover and teacher, ensuring your core and pelvis are supported as you move and teach.

This workshop goes way beyond theory to bridge the gap between knowing and embodying.

Instead of clients doing isolated exercises “because they were told to,” they begin to feel how their whole body works together—how breath connects to core, how feet influence pelvic floor, how alignment shapes everything in between.

Because when movement is embodied, it’s not just exercise. It’s transformation.
